Premium full-face with a three-position sun visor, four shell sizes and ECE 22.06 approval. Built for long days in the saddle.
Why it stands out
The RPHA 71 is HJC’s answer to a very specific question: can you have a premium helmet with a sun visor without it weighing as much as a modular? The answer is yes. With a composite fibre shell (carbon, glass and aramid) and four shell sizes, it comes in at around 1,570 g, a very reasonable figure for everything it packs in.
Features
- Internal sun visor with three positions, operated by a side slider.
- Pinlock insert included for the clear visor.
- Double D-ring fastening: slower to do up than a ratchet, but the one required in racing.
- Removable, washable lining with glasses channels.
Our verdict
If you tour a lot and want the convenience of a sun visor, the RPHA 71 is probably the most sensible buy at the premium end. It weighs a little more than the Shoei NXR2, but offers more features and is usually cheaper.
