Light 1,400 g full-face with an internal sun visor and a Pinlock-ready visor. The best balance between what it offers and what it costs.
Why it stands out
The Storm II breaks a rule that seemed set in stone: that light helmets are expensive. At around 1,400 g according to LS2, it weighs practically the same as helmets costing two or three times as much, and it is already ECE 22.06 approved.
It also includes something many premium helmets do not: an internal sun visor.
Where you notice the price
- Noise: above 60-70 mph more air gets in than with an HJC or a Shoei. With earplugs, it almost disappears.
- Lining: comfortable and removable, but with simpler fabrics.
- Pinlock: the visor is ready for one, but check whether your bundle includes the insert.
Our verdict
For most riders who commute and ride at weekends, the Storm II is the most sensible buy. We only recommend going up a level if you tour a lot and value quietness.
