Weight: AGV wins

The K6 S claims 1,255 g and the NXR2 1,390 g, according to their makers. That is around 135 g in AGV’s favour, which calls it the lightest road full-face in the world.

Materials: two approaches

  • AGV K6 S: carbon-aramid shell and five-density EPS.
  • Shoei NXR2: Shoei’s AIM multi-composite fibre.

Both are ECE 22.06 approved and pass the same tests. Check both on SHARP before you buy.

Shell sizes: a draw

Both come in four shell sizes, so they stay well proportioned in small sizes too.

Details

  • Pinlock: both include one (a Pinlock EVO on the NXR2).
  • Fastening: the AGV uses a double-D, the racing standard; the Shoei a micro-ratchet, quicker to do up.
