Polycarbonate full-face with three shell sizes, a three-position sun visor, a Pinlock insert included and ECE 22.06 approval. The affordable sibling of the RPHA 71.
Why it stands out
The i71 borrows much of its design from the RPHA 71, HJC’s premium full-face, and makes it in polycarbonate to bring the price down. The result is a helmet with features you rarely see at its price:
- Pinlock insert included in the box.
- Sun visor that can be set in three positions.
- Three shell sizes spread across six helmet sizes.
- Push-and-slide visor latch, easy to use with gloves.
- ECE 22.06 approval.
What to know
Polycarbonate weighs more than fibre: the i71 comes in at around 1,700 g according to HJC. That is normal for its class, but a lot more than the LS2 Storm II.
Our verdict
If you value comfort and features over weight, the i71 is a very complete alternative to the LS2 Storm II. If you can stretch your budget, the HJC RPHA 71 is lighter and quieter.
