Flip-up chin bar: advantage HJC
On the i80 you lift the chin bar at stops without taking the helmet off: very handy for touring. We could not confirm P/J approval, so ride with it closed.
Sun visor: advantage HJC
The i80 has an internal sun visor; the Hornet ADV does not.
Weight and toughness: advantage Shoei
The i80 weighs around 1,720 g according to HJC; the flip mechanism adds weight. The Hornet ADV, with no mechanism and an AIM+ shell, is lighter according to published reviews and better suited to regular off-road riding.
Shell sizes
Four for the Shoei, three for the HJC.
