REV'IT! Sand 4

8.2/ 10

The glove for a heatwave. It ventilates like few others without giving up full certification.

Scores by category

Short 3D mesh and goatskin glove with a PWR|Shield palm, vented TPR knuckles and EN 13594 Level 1 KP certification. Designed for summer rides and adventure bikes.

Why it stands out

On the hottest days, many riders end up riding without gloves. The Sand 4 exists to stop that: it combines very breathable 3D mesh and goatskin with vented TPR knuckle protectors that also channel air into the glove.

And it does so without giving up safety: it is certified to EN 13594:2015 Level 1 KP, just like the leather gloves in this comparison.

What to know

  • It is a summer glove: below about 15 °C it falls short.
  • The palm is PWR|Shield, a REV’IT! fabric with very high cut and abrasion resistance, with a TPR palm slider. The mesh back protects less than leather: for sporty riding, an all-leather glove is better.
  • It has a touchscreen fingertip, handy for the sat nav.

Our verdict

As a second pair for the warm months it is almost essential, and if you live somewhere warm it can be your main glove for much of the year.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Are the REV'IT! Sand 4 certified?

Yes: EN 13594:2015 Level 1 KP. Level 1 covers most road gloves and KP means the knuckle protection is certified too. UK law does not require gloves for everyday riding, but you need suitable gloves for CBT and the test.

Are the REV'IT! Sand 4 waterproof?

No, they have no waterproof membrane. For rain and the shoulder seasons, choose a glove with a membrane such as the Alpinestars Andes v3 Drystar.

Do the REV'IT! Sand 4 work with touchscreens?

Yes, they have touchscreen fingertips, handy for using your phone or sat nav at stops without taking them off.
