Battery life: DJI wins clearly
DJI claims up to 240 minutes recording at 1080p. GoPro claims over 2.5 hours at 1080p30 and over 1.5 hours at 5.3K30 with its Enduro battery. To film a whole ride without swapping batteries, the DJI has the edge.
Resolution: GoPro wins
The HERO13 Black records 5.3K at 60 fps; the Osmo Action 5 Pro, 4K at 120 fps. If you crop your footage or want maximum detail, GoPro. If you prefer smooth slow motion, DJI.
Low light: DJI has the edge
The DJI has a 1/1.3-inch sensor, larger than most action cameras. You notice it at dusk and in tunnels.
Water resistance and weight
- DJI: waterproof to 20 m and 146 g.
- GoPro: waterproof to 10 m and 159 g.
Accessories: GoPro wins
Almost every helmet and handlebar mount is designed for GoPro, and it takes interchangeable lenses. If you already own GoPro kit, that is a strong argument.
