Second-gen DMC Mesh intercom with 40 mm JBL speakers, voice control, 1.6 km range, around 13 hours of battery and IP67 waterproofing.

Why it stands out

The Packtalk Neo replaces the Bold and sits just below the Edge. It keeps what matters: second-gen DMC Mesh, 40 mm JBL speakers and Cardo’s natural voice control (“Hey Cardo…”).

Key figures

  • Up to 1.6 km range.
  • Around 13 hours of battery and fast USB-C charging.
  • IP67: rain, dust and mud are no problem.
  • Bluetooth 5.2 and compatible with every Cardo DMC unit.

Our verdict

If your group rides Cardo, it is the most sensible buy: nearly everything the Edge does for considerably less. The Edge is only worth it if you want its magnetic mount or the brand’s latest tech.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Is the Cardo Packtalk Neo compatible with other brands?

Over Mesh it only talks to Cardo units (Cardo's DMC Mesh). With other brands it can connect over Bluetooth, usually in pairs. Before you buy, ask what your riding mates use.

How long does the Cardo Packtalk Neo battery last?

Up to 13 hours of talk time according to Cardo. Cold weather, high volume or all-day Mesh use reduce it a little: on long trips, charge it every night.

Is it legal to use an intercom on a motorcycle in the UK?

Yes. Hands-free intercoms are legal. The Highway Code bans hand-held phone use and warns that hands-free devices can distract you, so set up music and sat nav before you set off.
