360 camera with a square 1-inch sensor, 8K at 60 fps HDR video, 14.5 stops of dynamic range and up to 100 minutes recording in 8K. Launched by DJI in September 2026.
What is new compared with the original Osmo 360
The original Osmo 360 was already Insta360’s big rival. The Osmo 360 II, launched by DJI at IFA in September 2026, fixes its weak points:
- 8K at 60 fps with HDR, against the 8K at 30 fps of most 360 cameras. On a bike you notice it: motion looks much smoother.
- 14.5 stops of dynamic range, one more than the first generation. It helps when you go from sun to shade or into a tunnel.
- Replaceable lenses. This was the Insta360 X5’s big advantage, and now the DJI has it too.
- 105 GB of built-in storage so you can record without a card.
Key figures
- Square 1-inch sensor with 2.4 μm pixels.
- Up to 100 minutes in 8K at 30 fps according to DJI, and 80 % charge in 22 minutes.
- Waterproof to 10 m without a case and works down to −20 °C.
- 183 g, the same as the first version.
Our verdict
It is the 360 camera with the best image right now, especially in low light. The Insta360 X5 still has more motorcycle-focused accessories such as its invisible stick and mounts. If image quality matters most to you, the Osmo 360 II is the one to get.
